Telecommunications company Vodacom Group on Tuesday expects double-digit increases in earnings for the year ended March 31.

In a trading update, the group said that the strong results are expected to be consistent with Vodacom's Vision 2030 double-digit earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation growth ambition.

For the year under review, earnings per share (EPS) are set to increase between 20% and 25%, to a range of 1 031c to 1 074c, compared with the EPS of 859c reported for the prior corresponding year.

Headline earnings per share (HEPS) for the year ended March 31 are set to increase by between 20% and 25%, to a range of 1 028c to 1 071c, compared with the HEPS of 857c reported for the prior corresponding year.

The group will release its financial results on May 11.
